Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.34 g, 6 h), Rome, 208. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate head of Caracalla to right. Rev. PONTIF TR P XI / COS III Caracalla, laureate and togate, in slow-moving quadriga to left, extending his right hand and holding eagle-tipped scepter in his left. BMC -, cf. p. 271 note †. Cohen 451. RIC 104. Very rare. Slightly rough and with minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
